Marketing Assistant required to work with senior team promoting Huddersfield Literature Festival. Fixed term from March-May. Successful candidate MUST be available in-person in Huddersfield from 8-18 May for some in-person event coverage.

Job Description
​

We are looking for a new member of the team who can join us on a fixed term basis to assist in the marketing for Huddersfield Literature Festival, one of our clients. The role will include social media activity, content creation, and attendance at some of the festival events to capture and post on social media.
This is a fixed term role, but we are looking for someone who would be interested in further work and developing a long-term freelance relationship. The successful candidate must be located in or around Huddersfield as a significant part of the role will include attending events, and/or capturing content around the town.

Duration: 1 March - 31st May 2025
Fee: 12 days at £125 per day
Hours: To be decided but will be weighted with more work done in May than March.

Job Requirements
​
Essential
- At least 1 year's experience working in a marketing role (or relevant educational/voluntary experience).
- Huddersfield based (or willingness to be in Huddersfield 8-18 May).
- Experience using social media for a business or organisation, including knowledge of scheduling and advertising tools (eg. Meta Business Suite).
- Experience in generating and formatting content for a range of social media platforms.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Google Suite and Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Friendly and personable nature. Able to attend events and engage with audiences and volunteers alike.
- Reliable, organised, & self-motivated.
- Ability to think creatively.

Desirable
- A working knowledge of Canva, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro (or equivalent), and MailChimp.
- Experience capturing and publishing content specifically at live events.
- Proven experience in marketing within the arts/not for profit sector.
- Knowledge or experience with GA4 and/or SEO

Job Responsibilities
​
- To create and publish content across a range of social media platforms for Huddersfield Literature Festival events.
- To work with the senior team to develop a marketing and content plan for Huddersfield Literature Festival.
- To assist in the capture and production of content for distribution across social media and other digital platforms.
- To liaise with other members of the Huddersfield Literature Festival team to arrange attendance at events and capture of events for publication across social media.
- To attend selected Huddersfield Literature Festival events on behalf of Leviart Marketing Ltd. and to capture content for distribution across social media.
- To contribute ideas and creativity in the development of content for the festival.
- To assist the team in other marketing tasks as and when needed.
